Welcome to Karlstad, Minnesota – the Moose Capital of the North. Karlstad is in the southeast corner of the Kittson County at the junction of U.S. Highway 58 and Minnesota State Highway 11. Karlstad offers many recreational possibilities for all seasons. Moose Park offers tennis courts, volleyball nets, softball fields, playground equipment, skating rinks, picnic sheets, bathroom, camping and RV facilities. In addition, the Karlstad Golf Course on the northwest corner of the town offers 9 hole course. Hunting, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing trails surround Karlstad as well.
