Sanitary Sewer Concerns

The City Council has directed that you be provided with a notice concerning important sanitary sewer matters.

First, no person is to discharge storm water, surface water, ground water, roof run-off or subsurface drainage through sump pumps that connect to the sanitary sewer system. If you have a hook-up that does not meet with the City ordinance you should change it immediately.

Second, heavier paper including sanitary wet wipes and paper towels should not be flushed down your toilet into the sanitary sewer system. These products are heavier and may clog or cause problems with the sanitary system or with your own sewer system in your own homes and businesses. Please take steps to make sure that you do not put a strain on the sanitary sewer system that can cause you or the community additional problems.

The City thanks you in advance for your continued cooperation in these matters.
