Bollig Inc, on behalf of The City of Karlstad, is accepting comments through November 10 on an EAW to address relocation of the Karlstad Municipal Airport.

The Karlstad Municipal Airport will be relocated to approximately 2 miles SE of the City of Karlstad and include the construction of an ultimate 4,700’ x 100’ paved runway, connecting taxiway, apron, beacon, Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS), parking lot, and access road. The project will replace the existing 2,606’ x 159’ turf runway to establish a more usable airport for the City of Karlstad and surrounding area.

The EAW notice was published in the October 11 Environmental Quality Board Monitor.

Mailed comments must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. Thursday, November 10, to the attention of Angela Holm, EAW project manager, Bollig Engineering, 1700 Technology Drive NE, Suite 124, Willmar, MN 56201.

Email comments must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. Thursday, November 10. They may be sent to aholm@bollig-engineering.com. Please include Karlstad EAW in the subject line.

Anyone providing a mailing address or submitting comments via email will receive a copy of the decision document, which includes responses to comments. Because all comments and related information are part of the public record for this environmental review, commenters names, and email or postal addresses will be published and publicly available as they appear in the materials they submit.
